Kennebec Estuary Land Trust Storybook Walks: Exploring Nature Through Story ~ Join naturalist, Becky Kolak, to read a story and to use your senses to explore the blooming understory. - Thursday, May 24 at 10-11am — Forest Floor Safari at Lilly Pond Community Forest. Join us for a safari along the forest floor where critters live beneath the leaves and in the soil. Join naturalist, Becky Kolak, at the preserve to read a story, to use your senses to explore the understory, and dissect a log in search of interesting critters.
- Tuesday, May 29 at 10-11am — Funny Frogs & Tiny Tadpoles at Thorne Head Preserve. Croaking frogs! Slippery tadpoles! Join naturalist, Becky Kolak, to explore a pond full of amphibian life. We’ll read a tadpole tale, catch amphibians and their friends to observe, and make froggy chapeaus!
- To get to Thorne Head, go north on High Street which dead ends into the parking lot of the preserve. To get to Lilly Pond, take High Street south and turn left onto Marshall Street and park at Goddard Park. Meet Becky there.
