recycling the community’s books

Sponsored by the Friends of the Patten Free Library to benefit the Patten Free Library.

Gently used books, books-on-tape and CD, DVDs, and puzzles for all ages are available for purchase thanks to a steady flow of donations from the community. Come enjoy a friendly, vibrant atmosphere with new selections added to the shelves daily. Great bargains can be found in this eclectic collection.

Books are shelved in categories for cooks, gardeners, artists, history buffs, poets, and mystery lovers to name a few. A colorful children’s section allows little ones to find their own favorites. Donations can be delivered to 194 Front St. during store hours, where Friends of the Library volunteers staff the store. An individual,  family,  or group may donate up to 3 bags per week.

This recycling opportunity can’t be beat. Keeping books out of the trash and offering them to other bibliophiles, including contributions of children’s books to the Book Cart at the Food Bank in Bath, is our goal. Prices range from $.50 to $5.00 for 95% of the books. A few large art, cooking, and gardening books are priced a little higher.
