Museum Passes

The Patten Free Library offers free or reduced rate passes to the museums and parks listed below.  Visit the Library or call 443-5141 x11 for more information or to reserve a pass.

Children’s Museum & Theater of Maine

The Children’s Museum and Theater of Maine re-opened on June 24 with a timed admission system.  The Children’s Room issues passes to Library patrons for a specific date; we can only issue one pass per day.  Passes are good for 50% off regular admission price for up to 4 people.

The museum is popular, and confirming the availability of  tickets is a key first step.  We recommend the following process:

  1.  Go the Children’s Museum “Plan Your Visit” page to check availability through its reservation calendar and to choose the date and time for your play session. (The museum limits the number of people who can visit on any given day; it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and is open to members only on Thursdays.)
  2.   When you have a chosen a date and time that is free, then call the Children’s Circ. Desk (443-5141, ext. 16) to confirm the availability of our pass for your desired date.
  3.  After reserving our pass, reserve the time and date you’ve chosen for your play session.  Choose the option to pay at the door for your discounted tickets, and fill in the appropriate number of adults and children that will be part of your group.  Add them to the cart and proceed with checkout.   You can also call the museum directly at 207-828-1234, ext. 290.
