Legacy Gifts

Over one-third of the library’s annual revenue comes from our endowment. We encourage donors who want to make a lasting gift to support the Patten Free Library to consider a gift to our endowment. There are many ways to make a legacy gift and our Development Director can talk with you about these by reaching to 207-443-5141 x1019 or slricker@patten.lib.me.us.

Legacy donors are invited to join our John Patten Society by:

  • Giving a donation of $5,000 or more to the Endowment
  • Designating Patten Free Library in a Will
  • Including Patten Free Library in Legacy Giving plans

Through such gifts or bequests, each John Patten Society member follows the visionary legacy of Capt. John Patten who, with his brother George, laid the groundwork for what is today’s Patten Free Library.
