The Teen Library Council is partnering with Brunswick-based environmental organization Manomet to sponsor a environmental poster contest for middle and high school students. Posters should promote activities and actions that help sustain the planet and reduce our environmental footprint.
Join us for an informative poster workshop on Thursday, May 10, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Community Room. Work with Manomet senior scientist Andy Whitman to shape your ideas and to learn more about how to create a poster that delivers a strong message about sustainability.
The contest submission periods closes on June 1 at 5:00 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in two age groups, grades 7-9 and grades 10-12. First prize: $100; Second Prize: $75; Third prize: $50. Winners will be announced on June 8.
Information sheets and guidelines are available at the Library’s Reference Desk; submit your posters there, too.
