Town History Series: Gift or Purchase? Relation to the Land, Arrowsic 1717

In August 1717 a delegation representing the powerful Wabanaki Confederacy met with the Governor of Massachusetts, Samuel Shute, on the island of Arrowsic.  The meeting which took place over four days, was one of many such negotiations.  But it is unusually well documented, providing rich insights into imperial-indigenous diplomacy at that time.  This talk will be given on Zoom by Sheila Spear. Armchair Traveler: From Kittery to Fort Kent: 600 Miles by Bicycle

Last fall, lifelong friends Alain Ouellette and Norman Guerette fulfilled a longtime dream and took a 12-day, 600-mile bicycle trip from Kittery to Fort Kent.  Using mostly Route 1 and Route 1A, the retirees covered about 50 miles a day and stayed in tents, with friends, and with friends of friends. Show is a 1964 concert film released by American International Pictures.[1] It includes performances by numerous popular rock and roll and R&B musicians from the United States and England.
