Bath Matters Kids Club: Pokemon!

Do you have a passion for Pokemon? Just curious? This club is a chance to meet others who share your interest. You don’t even need to know how to play! Trade Pokemon cards and play the Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG).  Battle decks will be available to loan during the sessions for those who are interested in playing Pokemon TCG.  Wednesdays at 3:30 for ages 8-12, but all are welcome.

Bowring and Hannah Lackoff lead this hour long generative writing workshop.  Through a mix of writing prompts, (optional) sharing and group discussion, participants will leave with lots of new ideas. This workshop will be held via Zoom and requires registration.  Geared towards adults and short fiction but open to any genres and interested teens grades 7 and up.

Town History Series: The Reconstruction of Maine’s First Ship

Maine’s First Ship is re-constructing the Virginia of Sagadahoc, the first ocean-going vessel to be built in North America.  The original ship’s construction in 1608 by English colonists at the mouth of the Kennebec River began Maine’s long tradition of shipbuilding and the maritime trades.  Jim Parmentier will describe the history of the Popham Colony and document the reconstruction effort of that ship that has been underway in Bath now for almost 20 years. Armchair Traveler: From Greenville to Belfast, a 300-mile Paddling Journey

Maine Big Night: Amphibian Migration Monitoring

Patten Free Library’s Children’s Room is proud to partner with Maine Big Night: Amphibian Migration Monitoring program and other organizations around the state to help volunteers get started in the field. Starting March 15 you can sign out high-visibility vests, headlamps, clipboards, data sheets, and ID cards to get you and your family safely monitoring amphibians for free!
