Work Pod & Group Study Room Policy

GUIDELINES AND CONDITIONS

Use
The two individual work pods and the Group Study Room are intended to provide quiet, private space for individuals or small groups. Use of the space is free; membership with the library is not required. Reservations are required, and are made online with any internet enabled device or with the assistance of a Reference Librarian.

Reservations

  • Reservations are made by the public using LibCal booking and reservation software platform, or with the assistance at the Reference & Information Services desk.
  • Reservations for the work pods are for 1 person and may be reserved for virtual meetings, presentations, interviews, and webinars (i.e. anything that requires conversation).
  • Reservations for the small group room can be made for 1-6 people, giving preference to individuals who need ADA compliant accessible space.
  • Initial reservation block is up to two hours, with discretion of reference librarian to extend.
  • Reservations can be made up to one month in advance.
  • A person may have a maximum of two active reservations/per week.

Use Guidelines

  • Eating in the work spaces is prohibited.
  • Covered non-alcoholic beverages are acceptable.
  • The maximum occupancy for the work pods is one, for the small group room, six.
  • The small group room is ADA compliant and accessible, and preference is given to those in need of ADA compliant access.
  • Booking will be cancelled if arrival is more than 15 minutes late or if the space is unattended for more than 15 minutes.
  • Individuals or groups may cancel their reservation online, or contact the Reference/Information Services staff as soon as they become aware that they no longer need the space.

Walk-Ins

  • If available, library visitors can reserve a space using their device or by asking at the Reference & Information Services Desk. In each case availability and duration will be confirmed at the time of the booking.
