John Huston’s “Moby Dick” (1956)

September 14 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Our commemoration of Herman Melville’s 200th birthday ends with a screening of the restored edition of this classic film. John Huston and Ray Bradbury wrote the screenplay. The film starred Gregory Peck, Richard Basehart, and Leo Genn.

Independent Melville scholar David Peloquin will host the movie and provide context. The Melville Society has described his work on mysticism in Moby-Dick as “entirely fresh and compelling analysis.”
