Edible Book Festival : Make a Book Cake!

March 19 @ 8:00 am - April 30 @ 5:00 pm

Our tasty annual celebration of food and literature – Edible Books – has gone virtual and been expanded to include all ages! We’re devoting an entire month to “stirring” up enthusiasm for our Edible Book Contest. Start now imagining what favorite book or book cover will be the subject of your decorated cake.  Design it, make it, and snap a picture to share with us. We will award prizes for the best entries in these categories: Professional, Adult/Young Adult, Family, and Youth.

Local baker extraordinaire Kaite Thayer of Thayer Treats will offer a series of short, instructional videos on cake baking, frosting, fondant, and decorating. Her guidance will help you (or your family) create of a book-inspired masterpiece! Her cooking demo postings are scheduled to air on the Patten Free Library YouTube site on these dates.
