Library Laser Tag: Halloween Edition

October 20 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Registration opens Monday, October 8 for a night of Halloween Laser Tag at the Library.  The event, scheduled for Saturday, October 20 from 6 to 9 p.m., is offered by the Teen Library Council in cooperation with Gorilla Tactics of Wiscasset, and is open to all students in grades 6 to 12 attending an RSU 1 school or residing in the Library service area. Special Event: Magic Draft!

Special Teen Event: Drone Demonstration

To celebrate the opening of the Library’s wonderful new space for young adults, we’re having a daily activity or demonstration during the week of October 23.  On Wednesday, October 24, drone videographer Dayne Dennett will conduct a demonstration on how to work with drones.  You’ll become his photographic subject and learn the about technology and regulations involved in shooting and producing drone videos.  Open to students in grades seven to twelve. This group, which started over the summer, will continue to provide middle school students with the chance to read and talk about books with high school book lovers from our Teen Library Council.  MHS students Nina Powers, Helen Bertelsman, and Lucas Blaiklock will lead the discussions.  The group is open to students in grades six through eight; we will meet the third Wednesday of each month  (except for November).  We promise a great discussion (and snacks).
