The Wreck of the Hanover and Harriet Beecher Stowe, a Bath Historical Society lecture

On Saturday, November 8th, at 10:30 A.M. Bath Historical Society will present a talk by Susan F. Beegel on the wreck of the Hanover and the role it played in one of Harriet Beecher Stowe’s novels, The Pearl of Orr’s Island (1861). The Hanover was lost at the mouth of the Kennebec River in November of 1849.

The doors will open at 10 A.M., and light refreshments will be available. The talk is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Sagadahoc History & Genealogy Room 443-5141, ext 18.
