The 14th annual Town History Series begins with a talk by Rich Start about the Parker family, who had an enormous impact on the colonization and development of the settlement of towns along the Maine Coast. Before that they played a role in the emergence of England as a power to be reckoned with among the countries of Europe. This is a story of a family of common people who played uncommon roles on both sides of the Atlantic.
This year’s Town History series is dedicated to the memory of Mel Hodgkins and Chee Chee Kakos, two significant supporters of the Town History Series and the Sagadahoc History and Genealogy Room, both recently deceased. For questions, please call the History Room, 443-5141, extension 18.
Doors open at 10AM.
