Join us for week three of our four-week hula hooping workshop! The classes are free and open to all students entering grades six through eight.
Samantha Ricker, the Library’s Development Director and hula hoop enthusiast, will lead the group. “I can think of no activity that I associate more with summer than hula hooping,” Ricker said. “It’s a pastime that never gets old.”
This Thursday and next, Ricker will offer hour-long sessions beginning at 3 p.m. Participants will start by learning tricks and techniques that are easy and fun, such as leg-, neck- and arm-hooping. In later sessions, they will progress to more advanced moves, such as the Lower Lasso, Egyptian, Kick-Start, and One-Arm Duck-Out. If the weather is nice and the hoopers are confident, the later sessions will be held outside in Library Park. Bring your own hoop if you have one, but we have extras!
To register, contact the Library’s Information Desk at (207) 443-5141, ext. 12, or by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
